Quite simply we are a modern media company that creates useful websites, cool graphics, and stunning photographs.

The origins of White Paper Designs began in 1997 when the founder, Scott White, convinced The Candle Factory of Georgetown, TX that they needed a website. Using vi, White Paper Designs first client site was hand crafted and set free on the unsuspecting masses. (See an example of our work circa 1998. Don’t worry things have changed!)

How did you get that name? Our name came from a play on the founder’s last name (White) and the name of reports used in government and industry called white papers. That and the domain name was for sale. Besides try saying WhiteWebDesigns three times real fast.

A white paper is defined on wikipedia as:

A white paper can be an authoritative report on a major issue, as by a team of experts;a government report outlining policy; or a short treatise whose purpose is to educate (contrast position paper) industry customers. It is called white paper because it was originally bound in white.
